My parents have been in the process of slowly remolding/updating the house since the day they bought it, 20 year ago, and the final push was supposed to be done way back in March. The upstairs bathroom had a working toilet, thankfully, but the downstairs was all packed into one room waiting for carpet. So, Husband, the baby, and I slept in a crammed room with just enough room for a queen blow up bed and a swing, while the remaining three boys and my mom slept in another. We were in ER for two nights and one day, then we packed up again and were back on the road for another three hour drive.
Fish Camp awaited us and we quickly settled in. The two oldest boys were going to sleep in my parents travel trailer, the two youngest, husband, and I in a toy hauler. The two youngins each slept in play pens.
I will say, that although a little cramped, and despite four young kids, this was by far the best year at fish camp yet. It seemed like we had most of the kinks figured out from previous years, and it all ran smoothly. I'm sure it helped that I've become a more calm, seasoned mom over the years. Dad borrowed a boat again so we dipnetted salmon from there. We caught all the fish we needed, despite a weird run this year where people had little luck from the banks.
The boys had their first experiences with a kite. #1 had an awesome time with it. It got stuck in a tree by my brother, Michael, but Husband was able to get it out. All in all it was a great trip!
